The Basics

CloudVeil’s Facebook filtering policy can allow Facebook Business pages whitelisted by URL. Other Facebook pages blocked will remain blocked by the filter.

You will need a personal account to create a Facebook Business page. We will temporarily unblock all of Facebook on your account or disable your filter to allow you to create this account and your business page.

We recommend that you tighten down the privacy settings on your personal page to prevent friend requests, showing up in searches, etc. Once that is done, we will block access to your personal page, but your personal account login credentials will allow you to access your business page.

Options by filter

We recommend using the Pages Manager app from Facebook. This app is not blocked by the filter. It is dedicated to managing business pages and lets you post content and communicate with customers by responding to their posts or instant messages. This app does not allow access to other users Facebook business or personal pages. We can also whitelist your business page so you can access it using
your filtered browser. We just need the full URL of your specific page to do that.

Getting Started

Facebook account and login credentials

If you do not already have a Facebook account and page created, you can do that using
one of these methods.

  1. Download the Facebook app. 
  2. Go to Cloudlocker > Request Unblock > Facebook and send in the request. 
  3. You should be able to set up your account and page with the Facebook app. 
  4. Once the business page is set up we can lock the Facebook app and you can use the Facebook Business Suite app.

Contact CloudVeil Support to temporarily add Facebook to the relaxed policy settings on your Cloudveil for Windows filter.

Finding a Facebook page URL

  • CloudVeil will need the full URL of your business page to whitelist it thru our filters. You can find it in the top address bar of your browser and should look similar to this: https://www.facebook.com/examplebusinesspage/23423423 
  • You can also send us the full URL by requesting an unblock from the block page.

Facebook Marketplace

We are currently exploring options to allow Facebook Marketplace without opening up all of Facebook. At this point we haven’t found a solution. 

Facebook Groups

Access to Facebook groups can be allowed thru our filtered browsers by requesting an unblock for a specific groups URL. 

CloudVeil for Windows can be configured to allow Facebook thru the relaxed policy settings. This will allow full access to Facebook including groups and personal accounts for the allotted amount of time. Caution is urged, posting to and using personal pages for social interaction is not included in the current exceptions made for Facebook business advertising.

Facebook Messenger

Messenger is sometimes needed to communicate with people privately who contact you
from your page, or who have items listed for sale in Marketplace, buy, sell & trade
groups, etc.

The Facebook Messenger app is just another messaging app, but it does include games
and some bot like features that may contain unacceptable content. Caution is urged.

The Pages Manager app allows you to respond to messages sent to your business page
thru Messenger, but does not allow you to start new conversations with others.
